The Go-Giver tells the tale of an ambitious young man called Joe that yearns for success. Joe is a true go-getter, though in some cases he feels as if the harder and also much faster he works, the more away his goals seem to be. And so eventually, determined to land a key sale at the end of a bad quarter, he inquires from the enigmatic Pindar, a legendary consultant described by his lots of enthusiasts merely as the Chairman.

Over the following week, Pindar introduces Joe to a series of “go-givers”: a restaurateur, a Chief Executive Officer, an economic advisor, a real estate broker, as well as the “Adapter,” who brought them entirely. Pindar’s buddies show Joe the Five Legislations of Dizzying Success as well as teach him the best ways to open himself around the power of giving.

Joe discovers that altering his focus from getting to offering– putting others’ interests first and consistently adding value to their lives– inevitably leads to unexpected returns.

In the end, he realizes that if he is to achieve his goals, he must help others with theirs; he must create greater value for them than what he receives in compensation.  For it is in giving, that Joe ultimately receives.
